Let's say there are 12 boxes of cheese in the original order. Draw a table with 4 rows and 3 columns. Shade exactly 3 of the rows (the entire row). So you should shade in 9 boxes total with 3 left unshaded.

Those 9 shaded boxes are then distributed equally among the 3 restaurants. So each restaurant gets 9/3 = 3 boxes

Comparing those 3 boxes to the original 12 forms the fraction: 3/12 = 1/4

So each restaurant gets 1/4 of the original order

Answer: 1/4

Note: another way to do this is to multiply 1/3 by 3/4 to get 1/4

A manufacturer earns Rs4500 in the first month and Rs 6000 in second month. On plotting these points a manufacturer observes a l
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

f(x) = 1500x +3000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Represent the months with x and the earnings with y.

So:

(x_1,y_1) = (1,4500)

(x_2,y_2) = (2,6000)

Required

Determine the linear function

First, calculate slope (m)

m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}

m = \frac{6000 - 4500}{2 - 1}

m = \frac{1500}{1}

m = 1500

The equation is then calculated using:

y = m(x - x_1) + y_1

y = 1500(x - 1) + 4500

y = 1500x - 1500 + 4500

y = 1500x +3000

As a function, we have:

f(x) = 1500x +3000

In ΔRST, t = 4.1 inches, r = 7.1 inches and ∠S=45°. Find the length of s, to the nearest 10th of an inch.
dem82 [27]

Answer:

The length of s is 5.1 inches to the nearest tenth of an inch

Step-by-step explanation:

In Δ RST

∵ t is the opposite side to ∠T

∵ r is the opposite side to ∠R

∵ s is the opposite side to ∠S

→ To find s let us use the cosine rule

∴ s² = t² + r² - 2 × t × r × cos∠S

∵ t = 4.1 inches, r = 7.1 inches, and m∠S = 45°

→ Substitute them in the rule above

∴ s² = (4.1)² + (7.1)² - 2 × 4.1 × 7.1 × cos(45°)

∴ s² = 16.81 + 50.41 - 41.1677568

∴ s² = 26.0522432

→ Take √ for both sides

∴ s = 5.10413981

→ Round it to the nearest tenth

∴ s = 5.1 inches

∴ The length of s is 5.1 inches to the nearest tenth of an inch
