Let's say there are 12 boxes of cheese in the original order. Draw a table with 4 rows and 3 columns. Shade exactly 3 of the rows (the entire row). So you should shade in 9 boxes total with 3 left unshaded.

Those 9 shaded boxes are then distributed equally among the 3 restaurants. So each restaurant gets 9/3 = 3 boxes

Comparing those 3 boxes to the original 12 forms the fraction: 3/12 = 1/4

So each restaurant gets 1/4 of the original order

Answer: 1/4

Note: another way to do this is to multiply 1/3 by 3/4 to get 1/4

Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer:

"9\times 10^{10}" or "90000000000" grains are there in 6300 kg of sand

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

1 grain sand weighs = 7\times 10^{-5}

Let x be the number of grain in 6300 kg of sand

Solution:

x= \frac{6300 \times 10^3}{7\times10^{-5}}= 900\times10^3\times10^5=9\times10^{10}

"9\times 10^{10}" or "90000000000" grains are there in 6300 kg of sand

Alika [10]

Answer:

  1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

The value of n is the number of the term. Put that value in the equation to find the term.

  a_n=\dfrac{1}{n}\\\\a_1=\dfrac{1}{1}=1\\\\a_2=\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\a_3=\dfrac{1}{3}\\\\a_4=\dfrac{1}{4}

Then the first 4 terms of the sequence are ...

  1,1/2,1/3,1/4
