The two equations are
x + y = 7
and
4x + 2.5y = 22
the first equation can be solved for x to be
x = 7 - y
next you can substitute x in the second equation
4(7 - y) + 2.5y = 22
Distribute 4 to everything in the parentheses
28 - 4y + 2.5y = 22
combine like terms:
28 - 1.5y = 22
subtract 28 from both sides of the equation
- 1.5y =  - 6
divide both sides by -1.5
y =  4
plug this in to the original equation of x+y=7
x + 4 = 7
subtract 4 from both sides.
x = 3
Final Answer: they bought 3 adult tickets and 4 student tickets

A sample of students was asked what political party do they belong. which of the following types of graphical display would be a
inna [77]

Answer:

B. Pie chart.

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, the students are asked what political party they belong. The best display format would be one in which the graph can be divided into parts, or percents, according to the percentage of students belonging to each political party. The graph that best describes this, distributing a group into parts, is a pie chart, and thus, the correct answer is given by option b.

Scatterplot is used when two variables correlate together, that is, there is a relationship between them, which we don't have between the number, or proportion of students belonging to each political party. Stemplot are used when there is a high number of quantitative data, which we do not have here.

A circle is inscribed in a square. Write and simplify an expression for the ratio of the area of the square to the area of the c
irina [24]
Given:
circle inscribed in a square.
Side length of the square = diameter of the circle.
Let x side length and diameter.

Area of a square = x²

Area of a circle = πr²

r = radius ; half of the diameter. = x/2

Area of a circle = π * (x/2)²  or π (x²/4)

Ratio of the area of the square to the area of the circle

x² : π(x²/4)   or x² / πx²/4

x² * 4/πx² = 4/π
