kakasveta [241]

The human population has changed since it first appeared on earth as The b. population has generally increased, and at rates that have varied over time.

Humans, as well as other populations, have changed since their appearance on earth. Some populations became extinct as they were not able to cope with the environmental changes whereas other became more adaptable and increased in number over time.

The human population has also increased with the passage of time. However, the increase in the rate of the human population was not a stable one. At some times in the past, the population number declined due to environmental factors such as the eruption of a disease etc.

However, with the passage of time, humans have managed to adapt themselves to the changing environmental conditions and their population is increasing rapidly.

Although a part of your question is missing, you might be referring to this question:

Cardiovascular disease and ________ account for approximately 29% of U.S. a. deaths each year. b. stroke lung cancer c. leukemia
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer: diabetes mellitus

Explanation:

This is a disease condition associated with elevated blood glucose levels.

It is due to abnormalities of the Pancreas. The pancreas coordinates two hormones INSULIN AND GLUCAGON in its cells.

INSULIN converts excess sugar to GLYCOGEN while GLUCAGON breaks down GLYCOGEN to sugar when blood glucose/glucose levels drops.

If the pancreas beta-cells of glucose are faulty, INSULIN fails to converts excess glucose to glycogen; therefore glucose builds up in the blood plasma, and failed to enter the needed cells. Large amount of glucose is wasted in urine. This is diabetes Mellitus.

The two types of diabetes are:

Type 1 and Type 2.

Where in the body would you find low oxygen levels causing vasoconstriction and high levels causing vasodilation?
stealth61 [152]
The correct answer is the lungs. Usually, in the systemic organs such as the liver, kidneys, and the heart; hypoxia or low oxygen levels cause the blood vessels supplying them to vasodilate to increase flow of blood and prevent ischemia. Adequate oxygenation of systemic organs cause the blood supply to vasoconstrict to prevent pooling of oxygenated blood and shunt it to other organs that need the oxygen more.

However, in the lungs, the opposite is true because in the setting of hypoxia, the blood vessels of the lungs vasoconstrict as to shunt the blood to other parts of the lungs with adequate oxygenation for the blood to be adequately oxygenated. If there is adequate oxygen in the lungs, then blood vessels vasodilate to efficiently get the oxygen from the lungs.
