The multiplicative Identity says that anything times one is itself. Here's a couple equations to show this:

15 x 1 = 15
16 x 1 = 16
132213 x 1 = 132213

Algebraic: y * 1 = y

It works for every number

Need help with a math problem
Pavlova-9 [17]
9.25 × 2 = 18.50

so to find a percentage, you need to divide the full price by 100 and multiply that number by the percentage. so 18.50 ÷ 100= 1.85

to find 15% of 18.50 do 1.85 × 15

I'll let you crunch that ;P

4x + y = -24
y + 2x = -8
How would I solve by substitution step by step?
never [62]
Solve for y in the second equation by subtracting 2x from the left and the right;
Y= -8 -2x
Y=16x
Now sub 16x in the top equation
4x + 16x =-24
20x= -24
Divide left and right by 20
-6/5
