How do you find the missing variables in this problem please help
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

x = 55, y = 70, z = 125

Step-by-step explanation:

125 and x are adjacent angles and are supplementary, then

x = 180 - 125 = 55

The triangle is isosceles ( 2 congruent sides ) thus the base angles are congruent, both 55

The sum of the 3 angles in the triangle = 180° , thus

y = 180 - (55 + 55) = 180 - 110 = 70

55 and z are adjacent and supplementary, so

z = 180 - 55 = 125

In triangle abc,angle a=3x+1,angle b=4x-17,and angle c=5x-20.what type of triangle is angle abc
lutik1710 [3]
(3x + 1) + (4x - 17) + (5x - 20) = 180
12x - 36 = 180
12x = 216
x = 18
angle a = 55
angle b = 55
angle c = 70
This is an acute isosceles triangle.

In a carnival game, there are six identical boxes, one of which contains a prize. A contestant wins the prize by selecting the b
myrzilka [38]

Answer:

D) Yes. The five trials are independent, have only two outcomes, and have the same P(success); n = 5, r = 2, p = 1/6.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Number of boxes = 6

Box containing a prize = 1

Probability of success, p = box containing a price / number of boxes = 1 /6

Number of trials = 5

Probability of success on exactly 2 trials, r = 2

Hence,

P(r = 2) = nCr * p^r * (1-p)^(n-r)

n = 5 ; r = 2 ; p = 1/6

Using a binomial probability calculator :

P(r = 2) = 0.1608
