Okay, so I'm going to try to explain this to the best of my ability. 

The angle with measure 41 and 56 have an unidentified angle. We need to figure out what that is, since <x and that angle are vertical and congruent. 

Those three angles are adjacent and equal 180 degrees.

41+56+m(missing angle)= 180

97+m=180

Subtract 97 on both sides. 

m=83

So, x=83 degrees. Vertical angles are congruent.
