The settlers decided to boycott the British tea as a form of protest to the abuses imposed by the English crown.

After the Seven Years' War, England needed to reconfigure its finances and used the colonies to do so in a completely exploratory manner. Some of the measures that revolted the settlers were the Sugar Law and the Tea Law, which instituted British exclusivity in the trade of these products, applying abusive fees.

In this context, the settlers revolted to the point of launching the entire shipment of tea from the Company of the Indies into the sea. Since then, several conflicts have occurred, culminating in the independence of the thirteen colonies.

The colonists felt that it was appropriate and necessary to boycott British tea as a form of protest over the application of taxes. Britain was in debt in the 1760s, this led to the British Parliament applying taxes to the American colonies to ease the process of repaying these debts.

EXPLANATION

The British imposed colonial taxes on almost every ownership document, from playing cards, newspapers to business licenses and legal documents.

The British government felt the tax was fair because most of the money obtained was used to fight on behalf of the colony. However, the colony did not think like that. They were very angry because the application of this tax was without the voice of representatives of the colony.

Boston Tea Party is one form of protest over the implementation of the tax that occurred. The Boston Tea Party happened at Griffin's Wharf, Boston, Massachusetts, on December 16, 1773. The protest was carried out by dumping 342 tea crates imported by the British East India Company into the port of the colony. The Boston Tea Party was the first major action against British colonialism.

What's the different between english monarchy and American democracy ?
Irina18 [472]
The paramount difference between an absolute monarchy and a democratic (and/or republican) government is that there are safeguards in place in a democracy so that any action taken by a head of state or a legislative body can be challenged in the highest court and, possibly, rescinded.

Hope that helped!!
