Throughout the day, the depth of water at the end of a dock varies with the tides. The function h(t)=5cos(0.5t-2)+7 represents t

he height, in feet, of the water t hours after midnight. Which graph shows the height of the water at the dock at any time after midnight?

Remember that for a graphic of a trigonometric functions of the form f(x)=Acos(Bx+C)+D
A is the amplitude of the function
f(x)=D is the midline of the trigonometric function

We know form our problem that A=5, so the amplitude of our function is 5. We also know that the D=7. So the midline of our function is the line h(t)=7.

Using those two features we can conclude that the graph <span>that shows the height of the water at the dock at any time after midnight is: </span>

A rhombus and a triangle are equal in areas. if the base and height of the triangle are 24.8 cm and 5.5 cm respectively and the
ipn [44]

<h2>Given :-</h2>

  • Area of Rhombus = Area of Triangle

  • Base and Height of Triangle is 24.8 cm and 5.5 cm respectively .

  • Length of one diagonal of the rhombus is 22 cm .

<h2>To Find :-</h2>

  • Length of other Diagonal

<h2>Solution :-</h2>

As we know that

Area of triangle = ½ × Base × Height

  • Area = ½ × 24.8 × 5.5
  • Area = 1 × 12.4 × 5.5
  • Area = 12.4 × 5.5
  • Area = 68.2 cm²
<h3 /><h3>Now,</h3><h3 />

Area of rhombus = ½ × D1 × D2

  • 68.2 = ½ × 22 × D2
  • 68.2 × 2 = 22 × D2
  • 136.4 = 22 × D2
  • 136.4/22 = D2
  • 6.2 = D2
  • D2=6.2

<h2>Hence :-</h2>

<h3>Other Diagonal is 6.2 cm.</h3>

The roots of a quadratic equation are (1,0) and (-5,0). What is the axis of symmetry?
leva [86]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The axis of symmetry lies exactly halfway between the given x = 1 and x = -5.

The axis of symmetry is x = -2.

The 'halfway' value is also the 'average' of 1 and -5:  -4/2, or -2.

The axis of symmetry is x = -2.

Calculate the axis of symmetry in the equation Y = (x+1) (x-4)
algol [13]

Answer:

<em>Every </em><em>parabola </em><em>has </em><em>a </em><em>turning</em><em> point</em><em> </em><em>called </em><em>the </em><em>axis</em><em> of</em><em> symmetry</em><em>,</em><em>so </em><em>for </em><em>this </em><em>question</em><em> </em><em>you </em><em>just</em><em> </em><em>have </em><em>to </em><em>find </em><em>the </em><em>turning</em><em> </em><em>points</em>

<em>x </em><em>turning</em><em> </em><em>point</em><em>=</em><em> </em><em>-b/</em><em>2</em><em>a</em><em>,</em><em>and </em><em>the </em><em>y </em><em>turning</em><em> </em><em>point</em><em> </em><em>is </em><em>gotten</em><em> </em><em>by </em><em>replacing</em><em> </em><em>the </em><em>value </em><em>of </em><em>x </em><em>in </em><em>the </em><em>equation</em>

<em>y=</em><em>(</em><em>x+</em><em>1</em><em>)</em><em>(</em><em>x-4)</em>

<em> </em><em> </em><em>=</em><em>x^</em><em>2</em><em>-</em><em>3</em><em>x</em><em>-</em><em>4</em>

<em>a </em><em>is </em><em>1</em><em>,</em><em>b </em><em>is </em><em>-</em><em>3</em><em> </em><em>and </em><em>c </em><em>is </em><em>-</em><em>4</em>

<em>x=</em><em> </em><em>-</em><em>(</em><em>-</em><em>3</em><em>)</em><em>/</em><em>2</em><em>(</em><em>1</em><em>)</em>

<em> </em><em> </em><em>=</em><em>1</em><em>.</em><em>5</em>

<em>and </em><em>y=</em><em>x^</em><em>2</em><em>-</em><em>3</em><em>x</em><em>-</em><em>4</em>

<em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em>=</em><em>1</em><em>.</em><em>5</em><em>^</em><em>2</em><em>-</em><em>3</em><em>(</em><em>1</em><em>.</em><em>5</em><em>)</em><em>-</em><em>4</em>

<em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em>=</em><em> </em><em>-</em><em>6</em><em>.</em><em>2</em><em>5</em>

<em>therefore</em><em> </em><em>the </em><em>axis </em><em>of</em><em> symmetry</em><em> is</em><em> (</em><em>1</em><em>.</em><em>5</em><em>,</em><em>-</em><em>6</em><em>.</em><em>2</em><em>5</em><em>)</em>

<em>I </em><em>hope </em><em>this </em><em>helps</em>
