Answer:

The power of the Dutch East Indian Company was in the hands of the Amsterdam Chamber.

Explanation:

The Dutch East India Trading Company was the second multinational company in the world founded in 1602, and the first to set up its own stock exchange, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. It has also been considered the world’s first mega-corporation, with almost state rights such as the right to declare war, sign treaties, imprison and execute suspects, print money and establish colonies.   The highest governing body of the trading company was the Amsterdam Chamber. It usually comprised 17 members with a joint council. The trading company went bankrupt at the end of the 18th century, when the territories it controlled formed the East India Region of the Netherlands.
