B. Cousin Tom is the person who gave Frederick Douglass the idea that Baltimore would be a wonderful place. When Douglass was supposed to move to Baltimore, most of the people were against that, and even he himself was unsure about his decision. However, cousin Tom described the place as impressively beautiful, so he decided to go in the end.
