Answer:

The Adirondacks, Alleghenies, Catskills, Green Mountains, and White Mountains  are part of the Appalachian System of the Northeast U.S.

Explanation:

The Appalachian Mountains are a vast system of folding mountain ranges on the east coast of North America. They extend from Newfoundland and Labrador, in Canada to Alabama in the United States, although the northernmost region of the system is in Gaspe, Quebec.

The exact boundaries of the Appalachians depend on their definition. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) defines the physiographic division of the Appalachian Highlands, consisting of 13 physiographic provinces: the Atlantic Coast Uplands, Eastern Newfoundland Atlantic, Maritime Acadian Highlands, Maritime Plain, Notre Dame and Megantic Mountains, Western Newfoundland Mountains, Piedmont, Blue Ridge Mountains, Ridge-and-valley Appalachians, Saint Lawrence Valley, Appalachian Plateaus, New England province, and Adirondack Mountains.

The range is mainly located in the United States but extends to southeastern Canada, extends 160 to 480 km wide and extends from Newfoundland Island to central Alabama. This mountain system is divided into a series of mountain ranges. In total, it is about 2,400 km long.

What connection does the author draw between how old offenders are and how they should be treated?
aleksley [76]

Answer:

The author draws the connection between how old offenders are and how they should be treated by discussing the scientific research the high court took into account. As stated in paragraph 16, "The high court's rulings also took into account new scientific research, including findings that the areas of the brain that deal with decision making, impulsiveness, and consequences are often not fully developed until people are in their 20s." So, in other words, the author states that juveniles below the age of 20 do not have fully developed brains which can affect the way they behave and their actions. So they should be given a second chance or rehabilitation due to this reason.
