we are given

Jimmy is trying to escape Jane

For finding total distance , we will find distances and then add them

He runs 12 km/hr for 5 minutes

First distance:

speed =12 kh/hr

time=5 minutes

we can change into hour

t=\frac{5}{60}hr

d_1=s*t

now, we can plug values

d_1=12*\frac{5}{60}

d_1=1

second distance:

speed =17 kh/hr

time=8 minutes

we can change into hour

t=\frac{8}{60}hr

d_2=s*t

now, we can plug values

d_2=17*\frac{8}{60}

d_2=2.26667

third distance:

speed =6 kh/hr

time=2 minutes

we can change into hour

t=\frac{2}{60}hr

d_2=s*t

now, we can plug values

d_3=6*\frac{2}{60}

d_3=0.2

now, we can find total distance

d=d_1+d_2+d_3

d=1+2.26667+0.2

d=3.46667

so,

total distance is 3.46667 km...........Answer

Events A and B are disjointed.
Llana [10]

Answer:

7/11

Step-by-step explanation:

Two events are disjoint events if they cannot occur at the same time. It is given that A and B are disjointed events, so A and B cannot occur at the same time i.e. the intersection of two disjoint events will be 0.

For two disjoint events A and B:

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B)

P(A) is given to be 4/11 and P(B) is given to be 3/11. Using these values in the equation, we get:

P(A or B) = \frac{4}{11}+\frac{3}{11} = \frac{3+4}{11}=\frac{7}{11}

The rectangle below has an area of 70y⁸ 30y⁶. The width of the rectangle is equal to the greatest common monomial factor of 70y⁸
Lorico [155]

Answer:

The Width of the Rectangle =10y^6

\text{Length of the Rectangle}=210y^8

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the rectangle =70y^8 30y^6.

We are told that the width of the rectangle is equal to the greatest common monomial factor of 70y^8 \: and\: 30y^6.

Let us determine the greatest common monomial factor of 70y^8 \: and\: 30y^6.

Express each term as a product to pick out the common factors:

70y^8 =7X10Xy^6Xy^2\\30y^6=3X10Xy^6

In the two terms, the common terms are 10 and y^6. Therefore their greatest monomial factor =10y^6

The Width of the Rectangle =10y^6

Recall: Area of a Rectangle =Length X Width

70y^8 30y^6=Length X 10y^6\\Length =70y^8 30y^6 \div 10y^6 \\=\dfrac{70X30Xy^8Xy^6}{10y^6} =210y^8\\\text{Length of the Rectangle}=210y^8
