The DNA between Chimpanzees and humans are very similar because Chimpanzees (along with Bonobos) are the humans' closest living relatives. Chimpanzees, Bonobos, and humans all are thought to have descended from the same ancestor that lived six to seven million years ago. Below is an example of how similar humans' and chimpanzees' DNA is.
