This statement is mostly false. While all organisms do share basic needs to sustain life, there is a wide variety of strategies employed to meet these needs. For example, while most plants receive nutrients from soil, some live in soils which do not fully meet their needs. Such plants sometimes kill and use animals in order to meet these needs (i.e. venus flytrap) or partner with bacteria that produce some of the nutrients they need (i.e legumes).

What type of passive transport specifically includes water traveling through a selectively permeable fembrane?
butalik [34]

Answer:

Osmosis

Explanation:

The movement of water across the semipermeable membrane is called osmosis.

The semipermeable or selectively permeable membrane allows only certain solutes to pass through the membranes and hinders other solutes. The water level is the same, but the concentration of the solutes is different on both sides of the membrane. So this passive transport of the water occurs to balance the concentration of solutes on both sides of the membrane.

The correct answer would be D. beaks of finches

I chose this answer because in the Galapagos islands, the species of finches were forced to separate into several different environments, where there were different foods and plants. They lived in these environments for many years and eventually the beaks of these birds adapted to the environment around them. So the finches in one environment may have gotten longer beaks to eat fruits and get honey better, while one may have gotten a smaller but longer beak to gather and break nuts easier.

Hope this helps!
