An upright cylindrical tank with radius 8 m is being filled with water at a rate of 2 m3/min. How fast is the height of the wate

r increasing? Part 1 of 3. If h is the water's height, the volume of the water is V = πr2h. We must find dV/dt. Differentiating both sides of the equation gives Dv/Dt= πr2 Dh/Dt Subsituting for r , this becomes Dv/Dt ____________ π Dh/Dt What goes in the blank ? Thanks !

Answer:

16 goes in the blank

Step-by-step explanation:

V(c) = 2*π*r*h

Differentiating boh sides

DV(c)/Dt   =  2πr Dh/Dt    now radius is 8 m

DV(c)/Dt   =  8π Dh/Dt

That expression gives the relation of changes in V and h

DV(c)/Dt  is the speed of growing of the volume

Dh/Dt  is the speed of increase in height

so if the cylinder is filling at a rate of  2 m³/min   the height will increase at a rate of 16π m/min

A triangle has 2 sides measuring 12cm and 4cm. What could be the possible lengths of the 3rd side. (Please explain in steps)
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

You have to use the triangle inequality theorem:

12cm, 4cm, xcm

x > 4cm - 12cm

x > -8cm

x < 12cm - 4cm

x < 8cm

-8cm < x < 8cm

100 points for correct answer
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

\dfrac{x}{3}+\dfrac{3}{y}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given fraction</u>:

\dfrac{xy+9}{3y}

\textsf{Apply the fraction rule} \quad \dfrac{a+b}{c}=\dfrac{a}{c}+\dfrac{b}{c}:

\implies \dfrac{xy}{3y}+\dfrac{9}{3y}

Rewrite 9 as 3 · 3:

\implies \dfrac{xy}{3y}+\dfrac{3 \cdot 3}{3y}

Cancel the common factor y in the first fraction and the common factor 3 in the second fraction:

\implies \dfrac{x\diagup\!\!\!\!y}{3\diagup\!\!\!\!y}+\dfrac{\diagup\!\!\!\!3 \cdot 3}{\diagup\!\!\!\!3y}

\implies \dfrac{x}{3}+\dfrac{3}{y}
