The Stamp Act of 1765 was protested because it was a tax imposed on them by the British Parliament. They believed it was unjust to be taxed without their consent by unelected rulers. This Act was protested by burning the stamps and refusing to distribute them, sending petitions to England (which were ignored) and the magistrate's home was ransacked and destroyed.

What river that Texas claimed as its border in 1845 is not part of Texas’s borders today?
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

<em>R</em><em>I</em><em>O</em><em> </em><em>G</em><em>R</em><em>A</em><em>N</em><em>D</em><em>E</em><em>.</em><em>.</em>

Explanation:

Texas claimed the Rio Grande as its southern border. Mexico said the Nueces River, to the north, should be the border. The dispute simmered until Dec. 29, 1845, when the U.S. annexed the Lone Star State, and sent troops to the Rio Grande a month later. Mexico attacked in April 1846, and when the Mexican-American War ended in February 1848, the border we see today began to take shape.
