What is the main idea of paragraph three of Of Plymouth Plantation? A young servant of one of the passengers was the only one to

die during the storms. A sailor named John Howland fell overboard but was rescued before he drowned. A sailor who fell overboard was spared by God to become a member of the church. During the journey, the only death of a passenger occurred when the ship drew close to the coast.

According to this paragraph, if it weren't for God whose power helped save the sailor, he would have drowned. However, he was lucky (or the Lord gave him a better destiny) and he was spared so that he could become a church member.
