A sample of CH3OH(g) is placed in the previously evacuated vessel with a pressure of P1 at 600 K. What is the final pressure in

the vessel after the reaction is complete and the contents of the vessel are returned to 600 K?

P1

Explanation:

The final pressure in the vessel is the same as that of the start of the reaction. We can use the simplification of the combined gas law to solve this problem.

   The combined gas law is expressed mathematically as;

    \frac{P_{1} }{T_{1} }  = \frac{P_{2} }{T_{2} }

P1 is the original pressure

T1 is the initial pressure = 600k

P2 is the final pressure = P2

T2 is the final temperature = 600K

Unknown is the final pressure of the reaction

Input the parameters

   \frac{P_{1} }{600k}  = \frac{P_{2} }{600k }

 This leaves us with P1 = P2

Out of milk and water which would be the base and the acid??
Triss [41]
<span>It's easy to get confused about whether milk is an acid or a base, especially when you consider that some people drink milk or take calcium to treat an acidic stomach. Actually, milk has a pH of around 6.5 to 6.7, which makes it slightly acidic. Some sources cite milk as being neutral since it is so close to the neutral pH of 7.0. Milk contains lactic acid, which is a hydrogen donor or proton donor.</span>

How can atoms be neutral if they contain charged particles?
rewona [7]
Stability of atoms is determined by neutron:proton ratio. This n/p ratio is 1:1 for elements below atomic number 20. Hope this helps.

A pair of students found the temperature of 100. g of water to be 26.5°C. They then dissolved 8.89 g of AgNO3 in the water. When
bekas [8.4K]

Explanation:

Initial temperature of the water = T_i=26.5^oC

Final temperature of the water = T_f=23.7^oC

a) Change in temperature of the water,ΔT = T_f-T_i

\Delta T=23.7^oC-26.5^oC=-2.8^oC

Change in temperature of the water,ΔT is -2.8°°C.

b) Endothermic reaction : Reaction in which heat absorbed and the temperature if the surrounding is decreased.

Exothermic reaction : Reaction in which heat released and the temperature if the surrounding is increased.

On dissolving silver nitrate in water the temperature of the water decreased 2.8 degree Celsius  which means that energy water was absorbed by solid silver nitrate to get dissolve in water. Hence, endothermic reaction.

(f)  Mass of silver nitrate = 8.89 g

Moles of silver nitrate = \frac{8.89 g}{170 g/mol}=0.05229 mol

AgNO_3(aq)\rightarrow Ag^+(aq)+NO_3^-(aq)

1 mole of silver nitrate gives 1 mole of silver ion i.e. cation.

Then 0.05229 moles of silver nitrate will give:

\frac{1}{1}\times 0.05229 mol=0.05229 mol silver ions.

0.05229  moles of cations are produced.

1 mole of silver nitrate gives 1 mole of nitrate ion i.e. anion .

Then 0.05229 moles of silver nitrate will give:

\frac{1}{1}\times 0.05229 mol=0.05229 mol nitrate ions.

0.05229  moles of anion are produced.
