The theories may get modified with time as new information or new technologies get discovered or get developed. New developments result in the modifications in the methods of experiments that offer information, which may or may not encourage the prevailing theory. If the theory is still supported, it may be updated, however, if it is not even if the results are relevant and true, the theory may get substituted.
