Answer:

Anna, the mother in "The Leap," is characterized by her courage. As a young woman, she was a circus performer, already an activity that requires strength of character to take part in. Her act involved performing high above the crowd, leaping from beams and trusting her husband to catch her—something that took phenomenal courage. The fact that this activity could have ended in Anna's death is made explicit when her husband is killed after lightning strikes the tent. Anna does not lose her courage when she loses her husband and her baby, however. Instead, she is able to continue, and have another baby, the narrator. When their house catches fire, Anna is courageous enough to endanger her own life by leaping to the window of the burning house to save her daughter. The narrator feels embarrassed for her mother that she is wearing only her underwear to do this, but Anna has no thought of this—she is thinking only of her daughter. Finally, as an older lady, Anna remains courageous. Now blind, she uses the skills she learned as a young woman to help her navigate the world unaided, even though it must be a frightening place without sight.

What is Samuel’s point of view about Richard in "Blood in the River"?
Grace [21]

My overall impression of the book Blood on the River is that it’s a very good book. The reason I like it is because, it’s really suspenseful and it gets me really excited to keep reading. I think Elisa Carbone did a very good job of going to lots of places just to get facts so she could write an awesome book like that.

The character I can connect the most with is probably Samuel because he goes through a lot of hardships, either it being food, survival or Indian attacks. He also has to befriend someone he doesn’t trust yet.

The character that me most about life and death in the beginning and the end, was probably Captain John Smith because when he made Samuel stand on one foot, and told him that the whole colony has to be able to stand on two feet to survive.

I think the theme of the story that Elisa Carbone is trying to incorporate is bravery. I know this because on pages 78-80 it shows how Samuel knew just what to do about the situation they were in. With a lot of arrows flying around the fort, he got both the boys to go under the tent. James tried to get out but Samuel was pulling him, James started to get away but then Samuel lunged at him and grabbed him harder but James bit him and got away.

Another theme I thought was survival when he was at the Native American village how he learned how to make things using all-natural supplies. I think this because, when he was in the village he learned how to hunt and survive. The supplies he learned to make was “arrows, a bow, and a knife, then Kainta taught him how to shoot straight strait at target practice.

Does Beowulf really believe he can "calm the turmoil and terror" or is this bravado?
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

He really believes.

Explanation:

Beowulf believes that he can "calm turbulence and terror" because he has already promoted many heroic acts, he is aware of his strength and his ability to resolve difficult and dangerous situations that promote good to society and give him honor, wealth and a good reputation . He has confidence that he can handle the problem masterfully. This can often seem like uncontrollable bravado or narcissism, but Beowulf has that confidence because of his experiences and his self-knowledge.

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST

Watermelons and pineapples seem quite different when you first think about them and some factors do, but they are similar in many different ways. First, they are both fruits and they both contain juice which makes them the perfect thing to put in smoothies or on top of desserts. Secondly, they both have an ‘outer shell’ of sorts that helps protect the inside.  Both have bright colors on the inside and darker colors on the outside. Additionally, both are refreshing and could help people cool down in the heat.

Many things make the two fruits different too. A watermelon covering is smooth and bright shades of green and the inside is a dark pale shade of pink, while a pineapple’s covering is a brown color, and it is rough and pointed in places and has a bright yellow interior. Watermelon is also heavier than a pineapple is, and it is cut in a separate way than a pineapple would be cut. While watermelons naturally have seeds in them, pineapples do not have seeds unless they are grown next to each other.  Pineapple contains more Vitamin C than watermelons, but watermelon contains more Vitamin A. Watermelons are also messier because they contain more juice.

I hope this helps you.

It is 203 words. (I believe, you may want to double-check it)

I did not look up anything other than the Vitamin A and C facts, so I aplogize if it needs to be more detailed.
