Answer:

pore

Explanation:

Sponges are simple multicellular organisms. They do have aggregate cellular level of body organization. All major body functions in the sponge such as exchange of gases, circulation, and excretion are carried out by diffusion between the cells located at the pore (opening) of the sponge and the water which passes through the pore.   All the cell present within the sponge take oxygen from water through diffusion. Similarly, carbon dioxide is released into water diffusion. The excretory product produced as a by-product as a result of the breakdown of protein is diffused out by individual cells into the water as it passes through the sponge.

<span>contractile vacuole

Contractile vacuoles are organelles that are responsible for excretion function. They perform osmoregulation which manages wastes, water and other needed materials in the cell. They are found in some prokaryoric organisms like the algae, protists, amoeba and other unicellular organisms.

How do glucocorticoids enable the body to deal appropriately with stress? by releasing the neurotransmitters that prepare the bo
klemol [59]

Answer:

By increasing blood glucose, fatty acid, and amino acid levels

Explanation:

Cortisol, corticosterone, and cortisone are the glucocorticoids released by the adrenal cortex and serve to impart resistance to stress. These hormones stimulate protein breakdown (mainly in muscle cells), gluconeogenesis and lipolysis and thereby increase the concentration of amino acids, glucose and fatty acids in blood.

The amino acids are used by cells for synthesis of new proteins or for synthesis of ATP. Glucose is also used by cells to produce ATPs.

Glucocorticorticoids increase the sensitivity of blood vessels for hormones which in turn stimulate their constriction. The vasoconstriction raises blood pressure. The process of vasoconstriction resumes the normal range of blood pressure which is otherwise dropped by some emergency conditions such as injury and severe loss of blood.
