Answer: The domain and range of the first figure are D= {-2,0,2,4} and R={-3,-1,0}. The domain and range of the second figure are D={-3,-1,0,3} and R={-1,0,1,2,3}.

Explanation:

The all possible set of inputs is called domain and all possible set of outputs is called range.

For figure 1.

In figure 1 the first set shows the possible values of x, the second set shows the possible values of y and the arrow shows the relation between them.

The pairs defined it the figure are(-2,-3), (-2,-1),(0,0),(2,0),(4,-3). In a pair of coordinates (x,y), x shows the element of domain and y is the element of range.

Set contains only distinct elements so,

D = {-2,0,2,4}

R={-3,-1,0}

Therefore, the domain of the first figure is D= {-2,0,2,4} and the range is R={-3,-1,0}.

For figure 2.

From the given graph it is notices that the coordinates of the points are (-3,1),(-1,-1),(0,0),(3,2),(3,3).

So the domain is,

D={-3,-1,0,3}

And the range is,

R={-1,0,1,2,3}

Therefore, the domain of the second figure is D={-3,-1,0,3} and the range is  R={-1,0,1,2,3}.
