For a function to have a derivative in a point has to be continuous at the point, that is, it has to be defined at that point, other wise the derivative would be meaningless.

The fractions don't have common denominators so first we find the LCD which between 5 and 10 is 10. 4/5 changes to 8/10.
Then subtract 8/10 b from both sides to isolate the variable term. 6=1/10 b.
Multiple by 10 on each side to make the coefficient 1. 60=b

In a standard deck of playing cards, there is a total of 56 cards, 4 of which are jacks. What is the formula for the probability
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

the probability is  1/14 (7.14%)

Step-by-step explanation:

Since each card of the total of 56 equally likely to be chosen, then the probability is the ratio of the number of favourable outcomes divided by the total number of outcomes of the experiment. Thus the probability of getting a single Jack when there are 4 in 56 cards is

probability = number of favourable outcomes/ total number of outcomes = 4 Jacks / 56 different cards = 1/14 =0.0714 (7.14%)

thus the probability is  1/14 (7.14%)
