Avoiding conflict
Avoiding conflict will not really make the conflict go away: the bad feelings and conflicting interests will stay and it will not solve the problem

Competing with one another
This is bad because it's not a win-win situation and might cause some long-term bad feelings between the people involved

Compromising your view point
This is not proper because it will not help you achieve your goals and only frustrate you, meaning that you would be likely to have more conflicts in the future.
