The correct answer is:

The federal government moved the customs house to town.

In 1853 the Washington Territory was created and in 1854 the headquarters of the Puget Sound Customs Collection District house were moved to Port Townsend from Olympia.

The city's harbor then became the official port of entry allowing the economy to prosper as every ship coming from foreign ports would stop to clear customs.

What was the purpose of both The New Jersey and Virginia plans at the Constitutional Convention?
adelina 88 [10]

The New Jersey Plan and the Virginia Plan were both meant to settle the issue of representation in Congress during the creation of the new US Constitution.

The New Jersey Plan was meant to benefit the smaller states. In this plan, it called for a unicameral legislature in which all states would have one representative. The larger states disliked this idea, as they felt their population should have some bearing on how many representatives they have.

This is why the Virginia Plan called for a bicameral legislature in which representation would be based on a states population. A larger population would equal more representation in Congress.

Triangular Trade existed between Europe, America, and Africa. What did Europe want from Africa and America?
zhenek [66]

Answer:

b. Raw Materials

Explanation:

There was gold on the west coast of Africa and silver in South and Central America. The answer is not C because Europeans did not get skilled labor from Africa or America. They typically acquired slaves. As for weapons, Europe had the most advanced. Also, Europeans weren't looking for finished products from Africa or the Americas. If you want some more information, I'd suggest searching up the Columbian Exchange.
