In order to receive the answer to this question you need one operation which is division (or multiplication. Ask yourself what times what equals 8 ) the most traditional way, division 8 and 6.

6 divided into 8 = 0.75

to check your answer: 0.75 x 6= 8

therefore Luke collected 0.75 of a pound each day

Write an equation that represents the following word problem.
Genrish500 [490]

Answer:

Both would work.

Step-by-step explanation:

If we call Jackie's apples a, then Mark has a - 4 apples. Therefore, together they have a + (a - 4) apples, and we know that they have a total of 12 apples so we can write a + (a - 4) = 12 to represent the situation. On the other hand, if Mark has a apples, then Jackie has a + 4 apples, so we can also write a + (a + 4) = 12 to represent the situation as well. Therefore, both of the equations would work. Hope this helps!
