Say something about how irony is used in the story. When Romeo thinks Juliet is dead he drinks the poison to kill himself. She was just pretending to be dead though. And then she wakes up and sees him dead and then kills herself. So they all wanted a happy ending but couldn't have it. It's ironic because they went to all the trouble to be together when they just die anyways.

cestrela7 [59]

Answer and Explanation:

First, if we understand the meaning of each word, it will be easier to fill in the blanks. Let's take a look:

a. exonerate - clear, absolve, acquit

b. culminate - to reach a climax; to end in something

c. eminent - famous and respected at a certain field

d. persevere - to persist, to keep on, to continue

e. feasible - achievable, likely, practical

Now, let's complete each sentence. Let's also make any necessary changes:

1. I don't know if it is feasible to try to attend both the basketball game and the birthday party tonight. - No changes needed

2. Many of the city's premier artists and eminent businessmen attended the fundraiser. - No changes needed

3. The opening ceremonies of the Olympics culminated in a fantastic fireworks display. - It's best if we use the verb in its past form: culminate --> culminated

4. The football player was exonerated of all charges filed against him. - Let's use the past participle of "exonerate" since the sentence is in the passive voice --> exonerated

5. I admire Mitchell's perseverance despite his obvious physical handicaps. - this sentence needs a noun to complete the blank, so we need to transform "persevere" into a noun --> perseverance
