At the Yalta Conference of 1945, the military situation favoured Stalin. So the correct option as far as the given question is concerned is option "D". Yalta Conference was a conference between the leaders of different countries after world war II. This meeting between the premiers of USSR, America and UK favoured the Russian premier Stalin because Roosevelt was unable to attend the meeting due to illness and Churchill was in no position to challenge Russia. Stalin dominated the meeting completely and took the results of the meeting in his favour.

Katie gives Maggie half of her pencils. Maggie keeps 5 pencils and gives the rest to Jamil. A. Write an expression for the numbe
Lena [83]

Answer:

A. (y/2) - 5,  B. 3

Explanation:

Lets assume that the total number of pencils is y.

Katie gives Maggie half, i.e. = \frac{y}{2}

Hence Maggie has \frac{y}{2} pencils

If Maggie keeps 5 pencils and give the rest to Jamil, the expression for the number of pencils Maggie gives to Jamil therefore is;

Expression of pencil given to Jamil = (y/2) - 5

B.

To get the number of pencils Maggie gave to Jamil if Katie had 16 pencils, simply substitute y as 16.

(16/2) - 5

No of pencil given to Jamil = 8 - 5

                                             = 3

What were the positive and negative aspects to Harding’s laissez-faire approach?
Valentin [98]

one advantage to this philosophy is that businesses faced fewer government rules and regulations. this allowes businesses to do many things. often rules and regulations add tothe costs that business faces. sometimes, rules and regulations make it harder to do business activities. when businesses have fewer rules and regulations they are generally willing to take more risks and to invest in the economy. with fewer rules and regulations, businesses have a big incentive to try to maximize profits.

a disadvantage of this policy is that businesses may engage in risky behaviors that could lead to future economic problems. in the 1920s, there were few rules and regulations on banks and on the investiment industry.  to much money was being loaned to individuals and people could buy stocks woth only a small down payment. banks were also free to invest in the stock market. when the stock market crashed, many people and banks were financially ruined.
