I think it would be 710 because you can round the 302 to 300 and then 412 to 410 and then you add the but it asks to estimate so it would probably be 700   <span />

Well i just looking at the first numbers of each one and added those up that became 700 and since the numbers behind them arent so big it rounds out to 700:))

A particular algebra text has a total of 1382 pages which is broken into two parts the second part of the book has 64 more pages
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:

the first part of the book has 659 pages and the second part has 723 pages

Step-by-step explanation:

First we have to raise 2 equations, one that shows us the relationship between one part of the book and the other, and another equation that shows us that together they give us the total of pages

x = second part

y = first part

x = y + 64

x + y = 1382

As the first equation tells us that x = y + 64 we will replace x in the second equation with (y + 64)

x + y = 1382

(y + 64) + y = 1382

y + y = 1382 - 64

2y = 1318

y = 1318/2

y = 659

now we replace in the first equation to y by its value

x = y + 64

x = 659 + 64

x = 723

so the first part of the book has 659 pages and the second part has 723

What is the equation of a line that is parallel to y=47x−3 and passes through (14, 4)?
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of a straight line can be represented in the slope-intercept form, y = mx + c

Where

m = slope

c = intercept

The equation of the given line is

y = 47x - 3

Comparing with the slope intercept equation, m = 47

If two lines are parallel, it means that they have equal slope. This means that the slope of the line passing through (14, 4) is 47

We would determine the intercept, c by substituting m= 47, x = 14 and y = 4 into y = mx + c. It becomes

4 = 47× 14 + c

4 = 658 + c

c = 4 - 658 = - 654

The equation becomes

y = 47x - 654
