-3 to both sides
4b/2 = 8 +b

multiply both sides by two
(4b/2 = 8 + b) X2    =    4b = 16+2b

subtract 2b from both sides
2b = 16

divide both sides by 2
b=8

How to solve an equation.

1. Simplify any parentheses using the distributive property if needed.
2. Combine like terms if needed.
3. Use the addition principle of equality if needed.
4. Use the multiplication or division principle of equality if needed.

\frac{4b}{2} + 3 = 11 + b
2b + 3 = 11 + b
b + 3 = 11 <-- Subtract b from each side
b = 8 <-- Subtract 3 from each side

So, b is equal to 8.

Please Help I Don't Understand!
asambeis [7]

Answer:

5.3

Step-by-step explanation:

Since they are similar triangles, we assume the ratio between AM/AN is equal to the ratio between MB/NC.
AM/AN = 6/8 = 3/4
If MB is 4
3/4 = MB/NC = 4/NC
3/4 = 4/NC

3NC = 16
NC = 16/3
16/3 = 5.333333

The corporate team-building event will cost $14 if it has 7 attendees. If there are 9
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer: for 9 attendees it would cost $18

Step-by-step explanation: First you have to find the unit rate. So for every 7 attendees it costs $14, divide them both by the GCF which is 7. 14÷7=2

7÷7=1

So for every 1 attendee it is $2.

Now to figure out how much it would cost for 9 attendees, figure out what you have to do to 1 to get 9. Multiply it by 9.

And whatever you do to one number you have to do for the other. So $2 • 9 = $18

So for every 9 attendees it costs $18.

what is the 18th term in an arithmetic sequence with the first term equal to 6 and the constant difference equalto 17?
Vinil7 [7]

Answer: The 18th term is 295.

Step-by-step explanation: By using the arithmetic sequence formula:

a(n): nth term

a(1): first term

n: term position

d: common/constant difference

a(n) = a(1) + (n - 1)d

You should get an equation of a(n) = 6+(18 - 1)17. By following the order of operations, you should receive an 18th term of 295.
