In the Making Connections slide in section 3 of this lesson, there is a quote by former Secretary of State Colin Powell expressi
Aleks [24]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Secretary of State Colin Powell expressed his belief that America’s success is based upon the nation’s diverse population. I totally agree with his statement.

Of course, America is successful for many reasons, but one of the most important truly is the diversity of its people.

My first example is that this great nation was built by immigrants, people that came from England founded the 13 first colonies in North America.

Secondly, as history teaches us, many European immigrants came to this country to find a better life through hard work and commitment: Italians, Irish, Jewish, and many more. Of course, there are the African people who were brought to America as part of the slave trade.

Finally, Asian and Latin American immigration have given their own identity to the United States because most of them have an open productive business or are working in the fabrics, industries, and farms of America. All of them brought with them their history, traditions, culture, and customs, forging the diverse United States that have contributed since their fronts, this great country.

What is a potential candidate most likely to do in order to decide whether to run for president ? O A. Hire a public relations c
dalvyx [7]

The correct answer is D) form an exploratory committee.

A potential candidate most likely forms an exploratory committee.

Before participating in a primary, the politician who is aspiring to run for the presidency, first of all, has to form an exploratory committee. This way he/she could asses the real chances he/she has and the probable support of the members of his party. In a bi-partisan system like the one in the United States has, the two more dominant parties have been the Republican Party and the Democratic party.
