Answer:

Inter phase is the resting phase between two cell cycles

Explanation:

The inter phase is the longest phase in the life cycle of a cell and is also known as resting phase of the cell in which the cell performs the following activities -

a) Cell acquire nutrients

b) Cell creates proteins and other molecules and uses them

c) Cell also starts replicating DNA molecule

c) Cell starts preparing for the process of cells division

There are three stages in a cell cycle -

a) Gap 1 phase

b) Synthesis phase

c) Gap 2 phase

The major function of inter phase is to prepare cell for cell division.

Daphnia are considered to be a microcrustacean. explain the terms “micro” and “crustacean”. give an argument as to why a daphnia
Masja [62]
As the word suggests, microcrustacean means 'a very small animal with a hard covering or exoskeleton'. Daphnia, otherwise known as water flea, grows only up to 5mm. Its size requires the use of a microscope which makes it qualified to be considered a microorganism.

In the following equation, what are the products of the reaction? C6H12O6+6O2
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂  → 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + ATP

Explanation:

There are two types of respiration:

1. Aerobic respiration

2. Anaerobic respiration

Aerobic respiration

It is the breakdown of glucose molecule in the presence of oxygen to yield large amount of energy. Water and carbon dioxide are also produced as a byproduct.

Glucose + oxygen → carbon dioxide + water + 38ATP

C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂  → 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + ATP

Anaerobic Respiration

It is the breakdown of glucose molecule in the absence of oxygen and produce small amount of energy. Alcohol or lactic acid and carbon dioxide are also produced as byproducts.

Glucose→ lactic acid/alcohol + 2ATP + carbon dioxide

This process use respiratory electron transport chain as electron acceptor instead of oxygen. It is mostly occur in prokaryotes. Its main advantage is that it produce energy (ATP) very quickly as compared to aerobic respiration
