A) platinum gym : Cost = 60+20x

B) super fit: Cost = 150+10x

C) 1st month Platinum costs 60 +20(1) = $80 and super fit costs 150 +10(1) = $160, so Tom Pays less after 1 month

1 year: Platinum = 60+20(12) = 300, Super fit = 150+10(12) = 270, so Edward pays less after 1 years

D) 60+20x = 150+10x

20x = 90+10x

10x = 90

x = 90/10 = 9,

9 months it would cost the same

E) Because super fit costs less per year, it should be a better deal, but since most people do not continue going to a gym for a long time Platinum gym would be a better deal

A dog walker charges a flat rate of $6 per walk plus an hourly rate of $30. How much does the dog walkercharge for a 45 minute w
leonid [27]

hello

from the question given, the dog walker charges a flat rate of $6 and an extra $30 per hour.

we can write out an equation in function notation

let the number of hours be represented by x

f(x)=6+30x

now we can proceed to solve the cost of the walk for 45 minutes

\begin{gathered} 1hr=60\min s \\ \text{xhr}=45\min s \\ x=\frac{45}{60} \\ x=\frac{3}{4} \\ \text{therefore 45mins = 3/4 hours} \end{gathered}

now we can input the value into the equation and know the cost for 45 minutes walk

\begin{gathered} f(x)=6+30x \\ x=\frac{3}{4} \\ f(x)=6+30(\frac{3}{4}) \\ f(x)=6+22.5 \\ f(x)=28.5 \end{gathered}

from the calculation above, the cost of 45 minutes walk will cost $28.5

An objects weight on Mars is 38% of its weight on Earth. If an object weighs p, pounds on Earth, write an expression for its wei
oksano4ka [1.4K]

0.38p

To get the percent of something, you turn the percent to a decimal and multiply it to the number.

Here, we want the expression to get 38% of p. So we turn 38% to 0.38 and multiply it to p. Since we don't know what p is, we have to leave it as 0.38p

The answer is 0.38p

Hope this helps!
