The current governor of Texas, as of this moment, is Greg Wayne Abbott. He is the 48th governor of Texas, and assumed office on 20th January, 2015. Prior to his being elected into office, he was a 50th Attorney General of Texas.
After George Wallace, he is the first governor of a state of the US to be in a permanent wheelchair.
