Y = 3/4x - 3.....slope here is 3/4. A perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. All that means is flip the slope and change the sign. So our slope will be -4/3 (see how I flipped the slope and changed the sign)

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -4/3
(12,-2)...x = 12 and y = -2
now we sub and find b, the y int
-2 = 12(-4/3) + b
-2 = -16 + b
-2 + 16 = b
14 = b

so ur equation is : y = -4/3x + 14
===================================
the slope on the graph is 3.....multiplied by -1 = -3
the y int (where the line crosses the y axis) is 4.....decreased by 2 = 2.
so ur equation is : y = -3x + 2

At a candy store you can pay $16.10 for 7 giant lollipop what would be the cost for 6 lollipops?
Alex Ar [27]

Answer: $13.80 for 6 giant lollipops

Step-by-step explanation: To find the cost of 6 giant lollipops at the candy store, we first need to find the unit price for a giant lollipop.

Unit price means the cost per unit,

in this case, the cost per giant lollipop.

Since we know that it costs $16.10 for 7 giant lollipops, to find the cost

for 1 giant lollipop, we need to 16.10 by 7.

16.10 divided by 7 is 2.3.

This means that each lollipop is $2.30.

Now to find the cost for 6, we multiply

the cost per 1 lollipop by 6.

So we have 2.30 × 6 which is $13.80.

So the cost for 6 lollipops at the candy store is $13.80.

How to do the fractions
GaryK [48]
First you make the mixed numbers/fractions into improper fractions. After that, you must find the common denominator, the LCM of 9 and 6 (for the 2nd problem). After that, if you can, simplify the fraction to lowest terms, which also includes making it a mixed number/fraction.

I hope this helps! :)
