Nnaemeka's father Okeke was against the decision of Nnaemeka of marring Nene because she belonged to a tribal group. Such reserved and orthodox thinking was not just restricted to Okeke but were the thinking of the entire village. After their marriage, the women of the village didn't include Nene in any of the village affairs.
