Hi!

In the Farewell speech, Queen Elizabeth uses the first person point of view in order to allow her to share her personal thoughts and ideas.

She doesn't use her point of view to appear appear to be impartial or objective, as a first person point of view is known for being subjective. She doesn't use it to seem as though she’s observing from the outside because this is a characteristic of someone writing in third person as opposed to in first person. And finally, she doesnt say it to prevent her from addressing the audience directly because this is typical of a speech written in first person.

Read the excerpt from Rudolfo Anaya’s essay “Take the Tortillas Out of Your Poetry.”
DochEvi [55]

The phrase of the excerpt of Rudolfo Anaya's essay "Take the Tortillas Out of Your Poetry" which best help the reader identify the author's purpose is "I know more of myself as I learn more about fellow human beings". In this essay, Anaya speaks about the inequity that Mexican-Americans face when they try to be published. They are compelled by publishers and editors to "take the tortillas out of their poetry" as a way of saying that to be published they have to take from their work the Mexican culture, which makes them special. "Tortillas", in this essay, mean both Mexican food and Mexican culture. Anaya says that he when he learns other ways and other cultures he knows more about himself and feels freer.

How does wheatley's use of sable impact the tone of on being brought from africa to america
rosijanka [135]

The excerpt given above is taken from Phillis Wheatley's poem "On Being Brought from Africa to America". The word sable literally means color black. In this line, Wheatley uses the word "sable" to indicate sense of inferiority. The author is an African and their race color is different from the rest.
