The steps to construct a segment bisector to a given line segment using a compass and straightedge are given below. Arrange them

in the correct order.1. Without changing its width, use the compass to draw an arc above and below the given line segment from one of the segment"s endpoints.2. Draw the point of intersection between the pair of arcs above the line segment and between the pair of arcs below the line segment.3. Use a straightedge to connect the intersection points between each pair of arcs.4. Open a compass so its width is more than half the length of the given segment.5. Again, without changing its width, use the compass to draw another pair of arcs from the other endpoint. One arc will be above the segment while the second arc will be below.

4, 1, 5, 2, 3

The appropriate order is ...
(4) Open a compass so its width is more than half the length of the given segment.

(1) Without changing its width, use the compass to draw an arc above and below the given line segment from one of the segment"s endpoints.

(5) Again, without changing its width, use the compass to draw another pair of arcs from the other endpoint. One arc will be above the segment while the second arc will be below.

(2) Draw the point of intersection between the pair of arcs above the line segment and between the pair of arcs below the line segment.

(3) Use a straightedge to connect the intersection points between each pair of arcs.

I cant seem to figure this out. Help
SashulF [63]
You’re gonna figure out the area of each side first. I’d recommend labeling them by letter to help keep track. Do 8x5=40 then multiply 40 by 2 (because there are two sides that are 8x5) then do 3x4 which is 12 usually you would divide 12 by 2 to get the area of a triangle but in this case just leave it alone because there are two triangles. Then do 3x8 for the rectangle (24) then you’re gonna add all the sides together. So 40+40+12(or 6+6) +24...youre answer should me 116

3x + 2y = 8
5x + 2y = 12
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We can solve this in either of two ways. I'll do both.

Mathematically

3x + 2y = 8

5x + 2y = 12

Rewrite either equation to isolate y. I'll use

3x + 2y = 8

2y = 8 - 3x

y = (8-3x)/2

Now use this value of y in the other equation:

5x + 2y = 12

5x + 2((8-3x)/2) = 12

5x + (8 - 3x) = 12

2x = 4

x = 2

Use x=2 to find y:

y = (8-3x)/2

y = (8-3*(2))/2

y = (8-6)/2

y = 1

The point is (2,1)

Graphically

Graph the two equations and find the point they intersect. See attachment.

We obtain the same answer: (2,1)
