For that opening sentence, I'd go with something along the lines of this:
"If I had to summarize my summer vacation, I'd say it was uneventful, but enjoyable."
"My summer vacation was busy to say the least."
"I didn't have the best time with my summer vacation, but it certainly was a vacation."
"I spent my summer vacation the way kids are supposed to; doing absolutely nothing."
"This year's summer vacation was the best I've ever had, and I'd love to tell."

Ah, opening sentences are the hardest part.

How about:

Summer vacation was a blast!
I waited a long time for this summer vacation, and it was worth it.
My summer has come to an end now, but I will forever treasure the memories I made.

Think the last is too cheesy haha.

Which of the following sentences would intensify the suspense in the story?
arsen [322]
B. One of your troop members began to cry.
It doesn't explain why he is crying, and is the most suspenseful, but one could argue it was C, because they could have going the wrong direction, but B is the most suspenseful due to the crying and emotion in it.
Hope this helps, even though I just debated aloud.
