Answer:

Sample Response: Even though George Wallace's argument was structured well and used some of the same sources as Dr. King, Dr. King's message about brotherhood was more convincing. George Wallace argued for freedom for the states to do as they liked, but no one should be allowed to ignore the rights of individuals and we should all be treated equally. Wallace realized this is his own life.

George Wallace was a far-right American politician and 45th Governor of Alabama. He sought the U. S. presidency three times, unsuccessfully. He is best remembered for his segregationist and right-wing views, which placed him in stark opposition to Martin Luther King Jr.

One of the reasons why Wallace was able to gain so much support in Alabama was because of the large numbers of disenfranchised Black Americans and poor whites in his state. This was reversed by the federal civil rights legislation of 1964 and 1965, which greatly decreased his influence. Another reason why his influence declined was because he changed his views later on in his career. In the late 1970s, Wallace announced he was a born-again Christian and apologized for his actions against civil rights leaders. Finally, Martin Luther King Jr. was fighting for civil rights at a time when the youth of the U. S. was a large political force and was driven by pacifist goals of equality. King was able to ride on this movement and contribute to it significantly.

Metaphorically, why do you think Cassius is the<br> only conspirator with his hood down?
elena55 [62]

Answer:

Because the reason he wants Caesar dead is that he resents how popular and god-like he has become

Explanation:

The conspiracy to murder Caesar was done by different people who had to unite to see their goal accomplished. Cassius wanted Caesar dead because of a different and less honorable reason from the others because while the others wanted Caesar dead because they were worried Caesar could become a dictator and harsh to the Roman people, Cassius wanted Caesar dead because he was jealous of his popularity.

In your journal, set up and complete a PATTR graphic organizer for "Reading" from Henry David Thoreau's Waldon.
STatiana [176]

Answer:

To begin, the purpose of the section is to describe human nature and how we as people interact with the world that we find ourselves in. As for the audience, it's truly all of us as a species. We have our differences, but Thoreau is under the impression there are some things we all have alike. The tone is rather formal, which sets up the theme of the piece quite well. Lastly, the rhetorical strategy used must be logos, since Thoreau is basing his argument off of human stimuli rather than emotions or credibility itself.
