Okay, if the pizza costed you $5.68 plus 9% tax, the final price is written as $5.68 + (0.09 * $5.68) or 1.09 * $5.68 which would give you $6.912 which you would you have to approximate to $6.92. His error must have been some type of multiplaction error.

To figure out the cost including tax simply take the initial cost $5.68 and multiply it by .09 (which is 9%) to get

.5112.

Add this number on top of the cost of the pizza

5.68 + .5112 = $6.19 (rounded).

I do not know how Joseph got $17.16.

An angle measures 148° more than the measure of its supplementary angle. What is the measure of each angle? AND DONT PLAGERISE!!
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Supplementary angles add up to 180°.

“θ is 148° more than its supplement”

Supplement of θ = 180°-θ

θ = (180°-θ) + 148°

2θ = 328°

θ = 164°

Supplement of θ = 180°-164° = 16°

The length of a rectangle is 71/2 inches and the width is 23/4 inches. What is the ratio, using whole numbers, of the length to
Over [174]

Answer:

142:23

Step-by-step explanation:

The length of the rectangle is given as 71/2 while its width is 23/4

We are required to determine the ratio of the length to the width;

length:width

(71/2):(23/4)

(71/2)/(23/4)

71/2 * 4/23 = 142/23

The ratio of the length to the width is thus;

142:23

The amounts of household waste generated in a region during two years were 23,400,000 tons and 48,100,000 tons. What was the tot
trasher [3.6K]

The first step to do is to calculate first the total household waste generate for the two years. That is:

total waste generated = 23,400,000 tons + 48,100,000 tons

total waste generated = 71,500,000 tons

Now, to write either a very big number or a very small number in a form of scientific notation simply means to write it in a decimal form such as: 12.5 * 10^10

Now to write 71,500,000 in scientific notation, the decimal form is 7.15, however we still need to find out the * 10^n factor. The value of n depends on the number of places the decimal point was moved. If the movement was from right to left, the value of n is positive and if the movement was from right to left, the value of n is negative. Since the decimal point was moved by 7 places, hence the complete scientific notation is:

7.15 * 10^7 tons
