13 more than Jenny's age is 73.

To make this an equation, we need to know what type of problem it is.

Because is says more than, we know this is an addition problem.

They give us the numbers 13 and 73, but we don't have one of them, that black becomes x.

Lets fill in the numbers:

13 + x = 73

That's the equation.

If you wanted to solve it, subtract 13 from both sides.

That leaves you with the answer: x =60

Hope this helps!

The surface area of a rectangular prism is 150 cm². If all the sides are tripled, what will the new surface area be?
DerKrebs [107]
SA=2(LW+LH+WH)
if all are trippled then

SA=2(3L3W+3L3H+3W3H)
SA=2(9LW+9LH+9WH)
SA=2(9)(LW+WH+WH)
SA=9(2(LW+WH+WH))
the SA will be multiplied by 9

150 times 9=1350

new surface area is$1350 cm²

What is the value of x in the diagram?
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

x = 30

Step-by-step explanation:

here 50 is hypotenuse as it is opposite of 90 degree.

x and x + 10 are the two other smaller sides of a right angled triangle respectively.

using pythagoras theorem,

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

x^2 + (x + 10)^2 = 50^2

x^2 + x^2 + 20x + 100 = 2500

2x^2 + 20x + 100 = 2500

2x^2 + 20x + 100 - 2500 = 0

2x^2 + 20x - 2400 = 0

2(x^2 + 10x - 1200) = 0

x^2 + 10x - 1200 = 0

x^2 + (40 - 30) - 1200 = 0

x^2 + 40x - 30x - 1200 = 0

x(x + 40) - 30(x + 40x) = 0

(x + 40)(x - 30) = 0

either x + 40 = 0          OR x - 30 = 0

x = 0 - 40

x = -40

x - 30 = 0

x = 30

x = -40,30

since the length and distance is not measured in negative ur answer will be 30
