The only example that I can think of would be America, but another example that would more apply to Europe (which is where Montesquieu was from obvi.) would be England: England is a constitutional monarchy and they had a system that was similar to checks and balances which was kind of an agreement between the monarchy and parliament. I’m not sure what the example is really referring to though.
