Explanation:  When comparing the political systems of ancient Greece and feudal Europe, the first and fundamental difference is that the Greek city-states had a democratic political system, such as Athens, although in Sparta ruled the king with the aristocratic council of the elders. On the other hand, feudal Europe was ruled by kings and lords with an accentuated dogmatic political system, relying on the teachings of the Church. In view of this, ancient Greece was more advanced because within the framework of democracy various philosophical directions were allowed within the various schools of philosophy. It is possible to compare the period of the reign of Alexander the Great, who created a strong and powerful Greek Empire, but even then many influences, for example, the Middle East, India were embedded in the culture of Greece, that is, the diversity of ideas, religions, gods was present and allowed. In feudal Europe, due to different interests of kings and influences which were realized with the help of the Church, there was no these diversities. In that sense, the Church was dominant and even dealt with secular affairs, influencing the strengthening and maintenance of dogma. Certainly there was no Enlightenment in this kind of Europe, which opposed dogmas, and it can be said that the Enlightenment was created, among other things, as a reaction to a medieval dogma.

Popular sovereignty is the idea that government's power should be determined by the people. The Declaration asserts that to secure their individual rights, the people institute governments for themselves -- that governments derive "their just powers from the consent of the governed."

The same phrase within the Declaration focuses on the idea of a social contract - that our agreement to live under a government is an implicit pact between the governors and the governed. Social contract theory was argued by English philosophers such as Thomas Hobbes and John Locke in the 17th century.  American founding fathers took a number of their ideas from the political philosophy of John Locke.  Locke's <em> Second Treatise on Civil Government</em> put forth his social contract theory and design for a representative form of government.

We haven't yet addressed natural rights. The strong assertion that all human beings have inherent natural rights is asserted in the most famous phrase from the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, <u>that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,</u> that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
