The diagram shows two balls released from a device at the same time. The ball on the left falls freely from rest, and the ball o

n the right is launched horizontally. Which best compares the vertical motion of the two balls?
Both balls have constant velocity and are acted on by gravity.
Both balls are acted on by gravity and are accelerating downward.
Both balls are pulled downward and have zero acceleration.

As you can see, the gaps between balls are continuously rising. Which means, ball is acted upon by gravitational force. If it is acted upon by force, that means ball is under acceleration. Ball is under free fall, so it is falling down at            9.8 m/s/s. The ball which is projectiled and the ball which was dropped will have same velocity in downward direction. i.e, downward component of velocity for both the balls will remain same so they will reach ground at the same. Horizontal component of velocity of right ball won't affect its downward motion.

Best answer is :
<span>Both balls are acted on by gravity and are accelerating downward.

The acceleration of the balls is downward gravity... having an acceleration means the velocity is not constant.

A baseball is struck home plate and acquires a speed of 60m/s. It rises to a height of 100.0 m above its starting level. Find it
Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

40 m/s.

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Initial velocity (u) = 60 m/s

Height (h) = 100 m

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10 m/s²

Final velocity (v) =?

The velocity at height 100 m can be obtained as follow:

v² = u² – 2gh (since the ball is going against gravity)

v² = 60² – (2 × 10 × 100)

v² = 3600 – 2000

v² = 1600

Take the square root of both side

v = √1600

v = 40 m/s

Thus, velocity at height 100 m is 40 m/s

On a cello, the string with the largest linear density (1.44 x 10-2 kg/m) is the C string. This string produces a fundamental fr
Rus_ich [418]

Answer:

T=346.5N

Explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Density \rho=  (1.44 * 10^{-2} kg/m)

FrequencyF=93.0Hz

Lengthl=0.834m

Generally the equation for Frequency is mathematically given by

F=\frac{1}{2 l}sqrt{\frac{T}{\rho}}

Therefore

T=\rho(2 lF)^2

T= (1.44 * 10^{-2}*(2*0.834)(93.0))^2

T=346.5N

Give at least two similarities and differences among the terrestrial planets Mars Venus and Earth
Viktor [21]

Answer:

Answer is as follow:

Explanation:

With a distance of just 6,792 km, Mars is even smaller. And again, Venus would be almost Earth's double in terms of scale. It has 81 percent of the earth 's volume, while Mars has just 10 percent of the earth 's mass. Mars and Venus have very different ecosystems, and they are both very separate from Earth.
