Use formula for theoretical probability:

Pr=\dfrac{\text{the number of favorable outcomes}}{\text{the number of possible outcomes}}.

1. The probability that Jonas will get an orange is

Pr(\text{Jonas gets orange})=\dfrac{5}{13}.

2. Ben is taking a piece second and he has 12 piecies left, among them 5 apples, 4 oranges and 3 bananas. The probability that Ben will get an apple is

Pr(\text{Ben gets apple})=\dfrac{5}{12}.

3. Use the product rule to determine

Pr(\text{Jonas gets orange and Ben gets apple})=\dfrac{5}{13}\cdot \dfrac{5}{12}=\dfrac{25}{156}.

Answer: correct choice is A.

Hey, guys help me answer!
Sliva [168]

Hello and Good Morning/Afternoon

<u>Let's take this problem step by step.</u>

        5=\frac{1}{3}(5x-15)\\ 5=\frac{5}{3}x-5\\ 5+5= \frac{5}{3}x-5 +5\\10=\frac{5}{3}x\\ 10 * 3 = 3* \frac{5}{3}x\\30=5x\\\frac{30}{5} =\frac{5}{5}x\\ 6=x\\x=6

<u>What did we do in this problem</u>

  • we ensured that both sides remained equally balanced in value
  • took everything step-by-step to make sure that there were no mistakes
  • to check it, we can plug it back into the original equation to see if it works

                  5=\frac{1}{3}(5(6)-15)\\ 5=\frac{1}{3} (30-15)\\5=\frac{1}{3}*15\\ 5=5 \checkmark\\

<u>Answer: x = 6</u>

Hope that helps!
