Answer:

angle of elevation of the sun is 38.66 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

So the shadow and post create a right triangle with the vertical leg 120 ft and the horizontal leg 150 ft.    We want the angle of the hypotenuse and the ground, so we use trig.

Gonna use x for theta for ease of typing.

Using SOH CAH TOA and the fact we have the two legs means we are going to use tangent.  With the chosen angle  as the one we are measuring from the opposite side is the post and the adjacent side is the shadow.

TOA means tan(x)=opposite/ adjacent so tan(x) = 120/150, so we need inverse tan or arctan, I will be using the term arctan.

arctan(120/150) = x = 38.66 degrees (If you need radians go ahead and change that in your calculator)

Let me know if you need any more help.

Solve the equation to get x
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

the answer is

Step-by-step explanation:

x=1/2y+5---i

4x+3y=-20 ----ii

putting value of x in eqn Ii

4×(1/2×y+5)+3y=-20

2y+5+3y=-20

5y+5=-20

5y=-20-5

5y=-25

y=-25/5

y=-5

putting value in eqn I

x=1/2×-5+5

x=-5/2+5

x=5/2

Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that is parallel to y = 4x - 5 and contains the point (6, "-10).
Jobisdone [24]

Answer:

The desired equation is y = 4x - 34

Step-by-step explanation:

Start with the general slope-intercept form y = mx + b.

The new line is parallel to y = 4x - 5, and so the slope of the new line is the same as that of the old one:  4.  Then we have:

y = 4x + b

Find b.  Do this by substituting 6 for x and -10 for y:

-10 = 4(6) + b.  Then -10 - 24 = b, and b = -34.

The desired equation is y = 4x - 34

Kona wants to bake at most 30 loaves of banana bread and nut bread for a bake sale. Each loaf of banana bread sells for $2.50, a
Inga [223]

Answer:

The system of inequalities that models the situation is

x+y \leq 30

x(2.50) +y(2.75) \geq 44

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Total number of banana bread and nut bread must be atmost 30

Cost of one banana bread = $2.50

Cost of one nut bread = $2.75

Kona wants to make at least $44

To Find:

The system of inequalities models the situation

Solution:

Let the number of banana bread loaves be x

Let the number of nut bread loaves be y

Then kona wants to make at most 3 loaves of bread,

So

x+y \leq 30 -----------------(1)

Then By selling one banana braed to $2.50, and each loaf of nut bread sells for $2.75,Kona wants to make at least $44.

x(2.50) +y(2.75) \geq 44 ---------------------(2)
