Answer:

It is a relationship in which an event triggered another. If the first event does not occur the second one will not exist either.

Explanation:

The first event is called "cause" while the event triggered by it is called "effect".

The cause is necessary to be the first event, it is the action than eventually will end in a reaction, the effect.
