All this has led to a transformation in the way of thinking. Knowledge based on ecclesiastical teachings and teachings was no longer undoubtedly accepted, but it all started to be subjected to scientific observation, experiments and the re-examination of traditional learning. I think the answer is b though I’m not completely sure. C and D are the kinda screwballs and so it left us with a and b and out of those two I doubt nationalism was in reference to have country rivalries. So B is the most sensible answer
