The journey and wanderings of Odysseus are the journey and wanderings that we all experience in life. Odysseus is seeking to establish his true identity. Like all of us, Odysseus is trying to be who he really is. At one point, in Odyssey 9, Odysseus even sinks so low that he claims to be "Nobody." Only at the end of the epic does Odysseus re-establish himself as the "real" Odysseus. He can, without fear of repercussion or contradiction, say that he is the husband of Penelope, the father of Telemachus, and the ruler of Ithaca.

Like most people, Odysseus also experiences temptation. The goddess Calypso tempts him with life everlasting; the goddess Circe tempts him with a life of pleasure on her island; the beautiful mortal princess Nausicaa presents an opportunity for Odysseus to have a new bride and a new life on Phaeacia. The Sirens tempt Odysseus with pleasure and wisdom.

Finally, like most people, Odysseus struggles to endure and overcome the various obstacles he faces in life. In his encounter with the Cyclops, Odysseus' curiosity almost costs him his life. Odysseus' temper and pride cause him to reveal his true identity to the Cyclops, which results in Odysseus incurring Poseidon's wrath.

In sum, numerous things that Odysseus experiences also happen to us. Of course, we don't literally face one-eyed giants or witches, but we do face the same sorts of challenges and temptations that Odysseus faces. Ultimately, we are all trying to find out who we are and what we are supposed to do with our lives.

As you read the article "Geronimo: The Warrior," use this table to take notes that will help you analyze the writing Evaluate th
Masja [62]

Answer:

thesis statement Geronimo became a bitter warrior after his family was attacked by José Maria Carrasco.

evidence The writer gathered evidence from Geronimo’s autobiography, which includes facts and anecdotes from his life. For example, Geronimo burned his belongings, his children’s toys, and two tipis after the Mexican attack.

structure The essay reads well, but it lacks the traditional structure of essays. Some irrelevant discussion is included as well.

strategies The writer uses a cause-and-effect strategy and an appeal to emotions (pathos). He argues that the cause was the Mexican attack on the Apache camp, which resulted in the death of his mother, wife, and three children. The effect was Geronimo becoming a ruthless warrior.

The appeal to emotions (pathos) comes in the description of the attack on Geronimo’s family. Rielly also describes Geronimo standing alone in a river after the attacks as a way of showing his state of mind after losing his family.

fallacies Edward Rielly’s article about Geronimo doesn’t seem to have many obvious logical fallacies.

overall quality This is a good essay. It focuses on providing solid supporting evidence, and it demonstrates clear cause-and-effect relationships.

Which of Juliet’s lines best shows that she understands Romeo’s identity?
andrezito [222]

B.My only love sprung from my only hate!

In this line by Juliet she is saying that the person she loves is someone she hates. The only family she is supposed to hate are the Montagues. The Capulets (Juliet's family) is feuding with the Montagues (Romeo's family). This reveals that Juliet knows that Romeo is a Montague.

"You kiss by the book" is a reference to the Bible. In their conversation, Romeo suggests that lips do what hands do by praying. In this way, he convinces Juliet to kiss him. Option C refers to Juliet's answer to her parents about Paris's proposal of marriage. Option D is when Juliet tells her mother she will only let herself have feelings for Paris if they give her permission.
